- Memory Comments: This system supports both ECC Unbuffered and Registered memory. Mixing ECC Unbuffered and Registered modules is not recommended. System does not support Non-ECC Unbuffered memory. DDR3-1333 modules automatically clock down to 1066MHz and 800MHz depending on which Intel Xeon model is used and the number of modules installed. Due to Intel chipset limitations, DDR3 Quad Rank memory will operate at 1066MHz in the first Dual Channel bank. Adding Quad Rank modules in the second Dual Channel bank will operate at 800MHz. System supports 2 quad-rank DIMMs per channel (4 total). Per Tyan specification, system limited to one DIMM per Channel for 1333MHz memory speed. 8GB modules supported up to two DIMMs per Channel (four total). Any configuration up to 32GB can be reached using any combination of 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB Registered modules, or up to 16GB using any combination of 1GB, 2GB and 4GB ECC Unbuffered modules.
