- Memory Comments: DDR3 modules automatically clock down depending on which Intel Xeon processor is used and the number of modules installed. Due to chipset limitations Quad Rank memory will operate at 1066MHz with 1 DIMM per Channel or 800MHz with 2 DIMMs per Channel. Modules of different memory types CANNOT be mixed within the same system. Please refer to the manual for additional memory instructions. Using LRDIMMs: Any configuration up to 1TB can be reached using any combination 32GB and 64GB modules in groups of four. Using ECC Registered DIMMs: Any configuration up to 512GB can be reached using any combination 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB modules in Group of four. Using ECC Unbuffered DIMMs: Any configuration up to 128GB can be reached using 2GB, 4GB and 8GB modules in Group of four.
