- Memory Comments: DDR3-1600 modules automatically clock down to DDR3-1333 or lower depending on which Intel Xeon processor is used and the number of modules installed. Due to chipset limitations Quad Rank memory will operate at 1066MHz with 1 DIMM per Channel or 800MHz with 2 DIMMs per Channel. This system supports either Registered ECC or Unbuffered ECC memory. Mixing Registered ECC and Unbuffered ECC modules is not supported within this system. Please refer to the manual for additional memory instructions. Using ECC Registered DIMMs: Any configuration up to 384GB can be reached using 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB modules in groups of three. Using ECC Unbuffered DIMMs: Any configuration up to 96GB can be reached using 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB modules in groups of three. Using ECC Load Reduced DIMMs: Any configuration up to 768GB can be reached using 32GB modules in Group of three.
