Memory Comments: System BIOS version 3.0 and above required to support Xeon E5-2600/1600 v2 series processors. Faster memory will clock down to run at optimal speed and voltage depending on processor model and number of modules installed. Due to Xeon chipset limitations Quad Rank memory will operate at 1066MHz with 1 DIMM per Channel or 800MHz with 2 DIMMs per Channel. Core i7 Extreme CPU's can ONLY use non-ECC UDIMM's. Xeon CPU's can ONLY use ECC UDIMMs or RDIMMs. This system supports either Registered ECC or Unbuffered ECC memory or Unbuffered non-ECC memory. Mixing Registered ECC, Unbuffered ECC modules, and Unbuffered non-ECC is not supported within this system. It is recommend that all installed memory be the same size, type, and speed. Please refer to the manual for additional memory instructions.
