Memory Comments: Modules must be ordered and installed in pairs for Dual Channel mode. If 4GB or more is installed under a 32-bit operating system, the recognized memory may be reduced to 3.5GB or less (depending on system configuration and memory allocation). Maximum configurations require a 64-bit operating system (XP 64-bit, Vista 64-bit, Linux 64-bit, Mac OSX). Per MSI, DDR2 and DDR3 cannot be installed at the same time. If installing DDR2 DIMMs into slots 1 and 4, MSI Turbo Cards must be installed DIMM_DDR3 side down into slots 2 and 5. If installing DDR3 DIMMs, MSI Turbo Cards must be installed DIMM_DDR2 side down into slots 1 and 4. MSI Turbo Cards are memory switchers that configure the motherboard for DDR2 or DDR3 operation. Any configuration up to 8GB can be reached using 256, 512MB, 1, 2GB and 4GB modules or kits.
