Memory Comments: DDR3 1333MHz speed requires Intel Xeon X5550 or higher processors. 1066MHz requires Xeon E5520 or higher, Xeon E5506 or lower support 800MHz only. Memory speed will be reduced as the number of modules installed increases. 1333MHz is supported with one DIMM per channel only using Xeon X55xx series. DDR3-1333 modules can automatically clock down to 1066MHz and 800MHz depending on module configuration or processor model installed. Quad Rank modules do NOT support 1333Mhz using Xeon 5500 series. Memory upgrading is limited to 1066MHz with one DIMM per channel installed, 800MHz with two DIMMs per channel installed. System will NOT support more than two QR DIMMs per channel. This system supports either Registered ECC or Unbuffered ECC memory. Mixing Registered ECC and Unbuffered ECC modules is not supported within this system. Intel Xeon 5600 Series processors support 1.5V DDR3 and 1.35V low-voltage DDR3L memory. If 1.5V and 1.35V DIMMs are mixed, all DIMMs run at 1.5V. Xeon 5500 Series processors support only 1.5V memory. Using ECC Registered DIMMs: any configuration up to 144GB can be reached using any combination of sixteen (16) single-rank and dual-rank 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB Registered modules, or up to 384GB using twelve (12) quad-rank 32GB Registered modules. ECC Unbuffered DIMMs: any configuration up to 48GB can be reached using any combination of 1GB, 2GB and 4GB ECC Unbuffered memory up to 12 modules.
